Walk through our sheds at any hour and you will see the same thing in every pen: a blue water trough within easy reach of the animals. It is one of the simplest parts of the farm — and one of the most important.
Water is part of everyday care
Access to water is managed as part of everyday livestock care and farm operations. It is not something we check once a week; it is part of the daily routine, alongside feeding, cleaning and observation.
Clean water is not a special task. It is just what happens every morning, in every pen.

Washed and refilled, daily
Each pen has its own trough, and the troughs are washed and refilled daily. Clean troughs keep the water fresh and keep the pens a better environment for the animals.
- Every pen — each group of animals has its own water.
- Every day — troughs are washed and refilled as part of the morning routine.
- Every check — water is looked at during the regular observation rounds.
Why it matters in a Punjab summer
Our animals spend roughly three to four months on the farm, through every kind of weather. In the hot months especially, reliable access to clean water is a basic part of keeping the herd comfortable under the shaded sheds.
Water management works together with the farm’s other routines — managed feeding, pen and group management, cleanliness and daily observation — to keep the animals organised and properly cared for.
